Locomotion in Year 5

Last term in Year 5, we looked at the impact of the industrial revolution on Britain.

As part of this we looked at the creation and importance of steam engines and the railways.

We were very lucky to be gifted a model locomotive by Hornby models to have a closer look at. The children were intrigued by all the pipework in the driver’s cabin. One child described the locomotive as ‘the coolest thing he had ever seen’.
