Romeo and Juliet

What an exciting start to our new topic Year 2 have had!

For our sparkling start, we were introduced to the main characters from the play.

We found a story book, but all of the words had vanished! We decided to introduce each character using brief character descriptions. The children were then challenged to remember some information about each character to ‘return’ to the story book.

To help the children remember and understand the characters, we used different props to represent the different family members.

The characters introduced were:
– Lord and Lady Montague
– Romeo Montague
– Lord and Lady Capulet
– Juliet Capulet
– Juliet’s Nurse

Throughout the week, the children loved taking part in a range of drama activities to support their writing.
